Joseph Hamon

Together with his Collaborative Family Law certification, Joseph Hamon is also a certified specialist in Family Law by the Law Society of Ontario and is certified by Family Mediation Canada as a comprehensive family law mediator. He practices in Ottawa/Pembroke/Renfrew/Kingston/Belleville/Peterborough and is trained to deal with personal family dynamics and legal and financial issues in family breakdown. He has a heart for the whole family.

A senior experienced professional who can help cut to the heart of the matter. Yet one who is deferential and sensitive to the wishes of the separating couple. Joseph, after receiving his law degree (LL.B.) from the University of Ottawa in 1984, received his bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in 1988 from the University of St. Michael’s College (University of Toronto) ultimately through pursuing theological and philosophical studies at the University of St. Paul in Ottawa. In 1991, he married Kristan Hamon, and opened his own law practice under the name of Hamon Law Office. He practices in both Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley through his Combermere office. Joseph is a board member at Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College in Barry’s Bay. He has been a registered lobbyist to Parliament on various issues and has been an advisor to several organizations including St. Francis’s Hospital Barry’s Bay, Precious Blood and Life, Magnificat Ministries, Christian Legal Intervention Academy (Founding Member), Christian Legal Fellowship (Ottawa), Thomas More Lawyers’s Guild (Ottawa-Director), Home School Legal Defence Association (Canada), Action Life (Ottawa) and Campaign Life. With Kristan, he is father to nine children. He enjoys sports particularly golf.
