More about John Guest
I am very passionate about resolving conflict and I strive to achieve a respectful and affordable resolution to your family issues. I enjoy working for clients who are committed to seeking a solution which preserves as much of the family resources are possible and takes into account what is best for their children.
I was inspired to practice collaboratively after witnessing many cases where the court process resulted in an expensive solution that was ultimately unsatisfactory to both parties. The collaborative process addresses issues in a meaningful way and reduces the needless conflict caused by the court process. I firmly believe that the collaborative process offers an approach that is far more in tune with the needs of people involved in a family dispute.
I am originally from Saskatoon and moved to Ottawa in 1999 where I have resided ever since. I received my B.A. in Legal Studies from Carleton University in 2012 and my law degree was conferred by the University of Ottawa in 2014. I was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015.
When I am not working, I enjoy strategy games of all kinds, nature photography and playing my cello.
