Home financing can be one of the most complicated financial pieces in a separation, and it’s one where getting the numbers right will strengthen the collaboration and confidence for clients to move forward.
I’m Allen Seto, a Mortgage Agent based here in Ottawa, with five years in the broker channel.
I hold a Level 2 licence through FSRA, which gives me access to a full spectrum of mortgage solutions, from traditional prime lending, to very specialized lending programs, and private options as well.
I can best support collaborative clients at the planning stage, before an agreement is finalized. Whether the question is how one spouse can realistically afford a buyout on a single income, what a refinance would look like to divide equity, or how a client starting fresh can rebuild their borrowing position, these are questions worth answering with real numbers before they’re locked into a legal agreement. My approach fits the collaborative model well. With a background in Engineering, I naturally think in a logical and problem-solving way. I’m an educator first. I explain the “why” behind every option, I don’t pressure, and I’m fully transparent about costs, trade-offs, and timing. My services are at no cost to most clients, and in the rare cases where lender fees apply because the situation calls for unique or specialized solutions, it is disclosed upfront before any final decisions are made.
